My very fond memories of Martha
Martha and I go way back to 1977 when I had my first job in Hampton Roads at Lomas and Nettleton. Martha was my second mom in the coming years. My first husband was in the Navy and Martha was a seasoned wife and mother of the Navy. My husband left on his first cruise on our 1st anniversary. Martha was always there to support me and always would say, just think, no more socks to pick up for 6 months. She was very proud of her 5 children. She would tell me tales of her husband being on a cruise and she moved her family to Hawaii by herself. We would most often go out to lunch with our boss, Eloise Bailey. Martha and I would most often go to El Toro for lunch. We were regulars there. In the future, I worked for Martha at Atlantic Permanent Mortgage. She was an awesome supervisor. Once that job was closed, I kept in touch with her until 1989, when I moved to Southwest Virginia. I have always missed her greatly. I moved back to HR in 1999 and tried often to get in touch with Martha, to no avail. I never found her, until today. I am so sorry I couldnt get in touch with her. I am in touch with her today, through this funeral home and through the Lord and my fond memories. I am so sorry for your loss. Martha was a great friend, 2nd mom, supervisor, and most of all, a good person. I love you, Martha and miss you dearly. Hope to see you again one day.
