Graves Funeral Home has been family owned and operated since its inception in 1953. There are many benefits when you choose a family owned and operated firm. One of the main benefits is pricing, because we do not have to answer to investors, stock holders or silent partners. We fully control our prices. Therefore, we are able to offer some of the most reasonable and affordable prices in the Tidewater area!

We give back to the Community!

Last year right before Christmas, working through various Churches and Civic leagues Graves Funeral Home and the Graves family fed 100 families in need. This year we fed 150 families! We also gave away 80 turkeys to various churches and families. And also this year we donated toys to the children of Grandy Village. And with your continued support we will continue to try and make Christmas special for people in our community.

Our Expert Beautification of your loved ones!

Embalming is an art form, and everyone is not an artist! You must be taught by someone who knows how to do it. In school you only learn theories, very little practical knowledge. There's over two hundred years of embalming experience at Graves Funeral Home. The people who taught Mr. Graves how to embalm were born in the 1800's. In turn, Mr. Graves taught his son Tommy III, and now he is teaching his sons Tommy IV and Jason. We pride ourselves in making your loved ones look peaceful and at rest. Too many people are seeing bodies that don't look like themselves!
